El largometraje documental El ritual del alcaucil, dirigido por Ximena González y producido por Alejandra Guzzo, inició rodaje en los alrededores de Avellaneda, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina
El proyecto inicia rodaje luego de obtener el interés del Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales INCAA, de resultar ganador de la Beca de Creación del Fondo Nacional de las Artes y de haber sido seleccionado para su desarrollo y perfeccionamiento en la Residencia del 6º ACAMPADOC Festival internacional de Cine Documental de Panama.
SOBRE EL RITUAL DEL ALCAUCIL I En un barrio construido alrededor de dos cementerios, en Avellaneda, suburbio de Buenos Aires, se repite mecánicamente la ceremonia del olvido. Los viejos vecinos desentierran recuerdos personales, barren historias colectivas y arrastran rumores del pasado al sueño. Mientras niños y niñas inventan su infancia entre tumbas y hamacas, el barrio convoca la extraña tradición heredada de comer alcauciles crudos. Lo cotidiano se convierte en ritual, y las sombras de muertos y desaparecidos deambulan, esperando ser habladas contra el silencio de los muros del cementerio.

THE RITUAL OF THE ARTICHOKES Starts shooting
The feature-length documentary The ritual of the artichoke, directed by Ximena González and produced by Alejandra Guzzo, began filming in the vicinity of Avellaneda, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The project begins fulminó after obtaining the interest of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, being the winner of the Creation Grant of theNational Fund of Arts and having been selected for its development and improvement in the Residence of the 6º ACAMPADOC International Documentary Film Festival of Panama.
ABOUT THE RITUAL OF THE ARTICHOKE I In a neighbourhood built around two cemeteries, in Avellaneda, one of the suburbs of Buenos Aires, the invention of time is mechanically repeated as well as the ceremony of Oblivion. Among weeping virgins and pagan oblations, the old neighbours exhume personal memories, they sweep collective stories and drag rumours to the dream. While children invent their childhood among the graves and hammocks, and the neighbourhood invokes the strange inherited ceremony of eating row artichokes, the everyday life becomes ritual, and the shadows of the dead ones and missing wander round, hoping to be spoken against the silence of the cemeteries.
